Next Steps
Our discipleship pathway
Everyone begins somewhere. Everyone grows at a different pace. You don’t need to know the whole journey — just your next step. We will walk it with you.
Everyone’s journey of faith is different. Some begin with questions, some with curiosity, some with long experience of church, and some with none at all. At Knock, we don’t see discipleship as a straight line or a set programme. Instead, we think of it as a pathway with different routes and natural steps, depending on where you are and what God is doing in your life.
Wherever you’re starting from, there is a next step you can take — and you don’t take it alone. We’d love you to explore the possible next steps below, and simply begin where you are.
Helping people know, enjoy, and follow Jesus… one step at a time.
Know Jesus
Explore
If you’re curious about Jesus, unsure, or returning after a while — you are welcome here. Start simply: come to a men’s or women’s event, try Alpha or Christianity Explored (click logos below for more info), join a Connect Group, try church on Sunday mornings, or meet up with our minister for a coffee and chat.
No pressure. No expectations. Just space to explore.
Trust
There comes a point for many of us when Jesus moves from being an idea we’re interested in to a person we are drawn to. Trusting Jesus means recognising that we can’t save or fix ourselves. We cannot carry our guilt, our wounds, our fears, our failures, or even our hopes on our own. We need a Saviour. And Jesus is that Saviour. To trust Jesus is simply to say:
“I cannot do life on my own. I need Your forgiveness. I need Your grace. I need You.”
If you feel you may be at this point — ready to trust Him or longing to — we would love to talk, listen, and pray with you. Not to pressure you. Not to push you. But simply to walk with you as you take that step.
Enjoy Jesus
Gather
Sundays are the heartbeat of our church family. We gather to praise God, listen to His Word, pray, and encourage one another. This weekly rhythm re-centres our lives on the goodness and grace of Jesus. You don’t need to come perfect — only willing. There is a place for you here.
Belong
Church is not just something we attend; it is a family we belong to. We would love to help you take steps that mark and deepen that belonging:
Baptism — a sign of God’s grace and of new life in Christ, for you or for your child
Membership — committing to follow Jesus as part of church family in worship, prayer, care, and mission
Our Belong Course will help you explore both of these steps in a simple, friendly way.
Grow
Growth in faith doesn’t happen by accident — and it doesn’t happen alone. We grow as we walk with others, open God’s Word together, pray honestly, and learn to recognise God’s presence in the ordinary moments of life. The best way to grow is to join one of our groups.
Follow Jesus
Live
Following Jesus is not just something we do at church. It is what we are called to do 24/7 in our homes, workplaces, friendships, and neighbourhoods. Step by step. One decision at a time. With the help of the Holy Spirit. We’ll help you work out what this looks like through clear and applied Bible teaching, small groups and courses.
Serve
We grow into the likeness of Jesus as we give ourselves for the good of others. Serving is not about filling gaps. It is a way of offering your gifts, personality, skills, compassion, and time to build up the church and bless the world. At Knock, there are many ways to serve. We will help you discover where your gifts meet real need, and where serving becomes joy.
Bring
We believe the good news of Jesus is shared person to person, gently and patiently.
Bring One is a simple invitation:
Pray for one person in your everyday life
Be present with them in ordinary friendship
When the time is right, invite them to explore faith with you.
A Simple Plan to know, enjoy and follow Jesus more
We encourage everyone at Knock to make these seven ones part of their lives, to help them know, enjoy and follow Jesus better.
