FAQs
Our Mission
Why do we exist?
We exist to help people know, enjoy, and follow Jesus.
Know Jesus
We want to help people come to know Jesus as the One who forgives sin, restores broken lives, and leads us into true life. This is where faith begins — with grace received and trust placed in Christ.
Enjoy Jesus
Christian faith isn’t just believing facts about God — it’s learning to delight in Him. We want people to experience joy, hope, and deep satisfaction in a living relationship with Jesus.
Follow Jesus
To follow Jesus is to become like Him. We learn to walk in His ways, to reflect His character, and to live out His teaching in everyday life. This is lifelong transformation, shaped by the Holy Spirit and shared in community. This is our heartbeat — in our worship, our relationships, our discipleship, and our mission.
Our Values
What matters to us?
These are the things we want to be known for — the culture and character of our life together.
Jesus-centred
Everything begins, continues, and ends with Him.
Biblically grounded
We trust the Scriptures as God’s true, good, unchanging and life-giving Word.
Outward looking
We want to share the good news of Jesus in word, action, and hospitality.
Caring
We carry one another’s joys and burdens as family.
Generous
We give of our time, gifts, and resources because God has been generous to us.
Expectant
We pray and act believing that God is at work among us.
Our Beliefs
Knock Church is part of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. We believe that the good news of Jesus is for everyone — and that it still changes lives today. We believe the Bible is God’s Word. It is trustworthy and given to us so we may know God and learn how to follow Him. A helpful summary of what the Bible teaches is found in the Westminster Confession of Faith. This confession doesn’t replace the Bible — it simply helps us express clearly what we believe Scripture teaches. Below are some of our core beliefs.
God
There is one God who exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit — three persons, equal in glory and united in love.
Jesus Christ
Jesus is the eternal Son of God who became human. He lived a perfect life, died to bear our sin, and rose again to give new life. He is Saviour, Lord, and King — and He invites us to follow Him.
The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit opens our hearts to believe, comforts us, changes us from the inside out, and helps us live in a way that reflects Jesus.
Humanity
We are created in God’s image and deeply loved, yet we are also broken by sin. We cannot save or fix ourselves — we need God’s grace.
Salvation
We are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone. We don’t earn God’s love — we receive it as a gift.
The Church
The church is not a building, but a family of people who belong to Jesus. We gather to worship, pray, learn, serve, care for one another, and share the good news with our community and world.
Baptism and Communion
Jesus has given us two signs of His love:
Baptism — a sign of belonging to Christ and His family
Communion — a meal of remembrance, grace, and shared hope
These strengthen our faith and draw us closer to Jesus and to one another.
